Woodland Retreat

One can imagine the calm that descends as you drive through the Massachusetts countryside, characterized by northern deciduous woodlands, wetlands, open farm fields lined with rows of corn, and apple orchards that stretch to the horizon. We had the pleasure of this experience during our site visits to this private residential project site, located in Bolton, Massachusetts.
Terraink collaborated with the enthusiastic homeowners, architecture team, builder, and site engineer from the early phase of Site Analysis and Assessment (during the siting of the future, new build home) through the Design Development and Documentation phase. The final project resulted in a spectacular hillside home that is nestled within a woodland context and accentuated by stunning views to the surrounding landscape. With natural stone walkways, indigenous plantings, and a mix of mown lawn and seeded meadowgrass fields, this property is a stunning, quintessential New England landscape.
